Meera Jasmine whose original name is Jasmine Mary Joseph is from Kuttapuzha, Thiruvalla, a small town in Kerela. She is the daughter of Joseph Philip and Aleyamma Philip. She is doing her degree in Home Science. Her entry into the film industry was through Malayalam. It was director Lohitadas who introduced her in his Malayalam movie Soothradharan.
